Fashions biggest night out is back and back on schedule! With the past few years being effected due covid, 2022 is back on schedule taking place on the first Monday in May (02/05 for this year)! Obviously, we have to recap and look at the best looks of this year.
What is The 'Met Gala'?
The Met Gala is an annual gala held by Vogue to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Institute in New York. Each year there is a theme and the people invited dress up using the theme as a guide. The people invited are celebrities including, singers, actors, designers, models or socialites.
What was 2022's theme?
This year, the theme was 'In America: An Anthology of Fashion'.
Who hosted this years Met?
The hosts included Blake Lively, Regina King, Ryan Reynolds and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Every year the hosts change. The people who host are chosen by Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue/organiser of the event. The hosts, also known as co-chairs, job includes putting together the guest lists, selecting decor for the event and speaking on stage during the dinner part of the gala.
The feedback from the public on this years Met hasn't been the best. Most people are saying that they think only a handful of the guests followed the 'Gilded Glamour' theme.
BELLA HADID IN A BURBERRY OUTFIT AND BRIONY RAYMOND JEWELRY
This outfit, one of the more popular ones of the night belonged to Bella Hadid. She continued her tradition of wearing all black to the Met Gala by rocking this leather, lacey, mesh outfit designed by Burberry.
'
LILY JAMES IN VERSACE
Actress, Lily James walked the carpet on Monday night in a see through, beaded dress designed by Versace.
ANITTA IN MOSCHINO
This look worn by Anitta at the event is receiving a lot of praise due to it understanding the theme quite well. This purple Moschino dress reflects Gilded Glamour greatly, if you ask me!
JASMINE TOOKES IN ZUHAIR MURAD COUTURE AND CHOPHARD JEWELRY
This emerald green gown paired with lacey gloves, strappy heels and a feather head piece was worn by Jasmine Tookes, the model.

On the 2nd of May, Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham made their first red carpet appearance as a married couple! They both wore designs from Valentino Haute Couture but fans couldn't help but notice that her dress was similar to her looks or the Met Gala 2021 with them being the same colour.

Rapper, Kid Cudi showed up to the gala in a blue Kenzo outfit of a suit with a cape draped over it. Don't know if the colour is very gilded glamour but the style sure is!

KIM KARDASHIAN AND PETE DAVIDSON
Now for possibly the most controversial look of last weeks Met Gala, Kim Kardashian's look. This look is the exact dress Marilyn Monroe wore to sing Happy Birthday to the president at the time, John F. Kennedy in 1962. This piece is currently being held at the Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum in Orlando and is worth around $5 million.
GIGI HADID IN VERSACE

BLAKE LIVELY IN VERSACE
Shes' back and better than ever! After not showing up to last years Met Gala, Blake Lively showed up this year and was one of the best looks of the night! She wore a long, beaded Versace dress which as she walked up the carpet, changed from this bronze colour shown in the photo here to a turquoise blue.
